While upgrading your backpack in Starsand Island can help in the short term — especially when you plan longer trips away from home — it’s best to store items at your house (or wherever you want to keep them) before everything gets too overwhelming. To help keep your pockets light, this guide explains how to store items in Starsand Island and what the best way to store items is in the lategame.

How to Store Items in Starsand Island

You need to craft and place Storage Boxes to store items in Starsand Island, but first, you need to obtain the blueprint of a Storage Box to be able to craft it. Like most of the best farming games out there, however, it doesn’t take long to get the blueprint of the most basic box (Storage Box I), as you only need to complete the “Return to the Cabin in the Woods” tutorial quest to get it from Solara.

If you want to craft storage boxes that can hold even more, you’ll have to purchase their blueprints with Gold from Zerine’s General Store. Just keep in mind that even if you have the blueprint, you might not be able to craft better Storages Boxes until you’re able to make more advanced materials.

Storage Box Recipes

Here are the recipes for all Storage Boxes in Starsand Island:

• Storage Box I: 8 Softwood
• Storage Box II: 6 Softwood Plank and 3 Copper Sheets
• Storage Box III: 6 Hardwood Planks and 3 Iron Sheets

You also need to upgrade to a Worktable II in order to craft Storage Box III.

Best Way to Store Items in Starsand Island

There is one other way to store your excess items, and it’s also the best way to store items in Starsand Island: use a Realm Box. It interconnects storage space across multiple Storage Boxes, but can only act as your lategame storage solution. This is because you need to reach Intermediate Crafter level to unlock its blueprint from Zerine’s General Store, and work your way towards making the advanced materials required to actually craft a Realm Box.

The recipe to craft a Realm Box in Starsand Island is:

• 3 Spirit Cube I
• 5 Alloy
• 5 Starflare Core
• 6 Hardwood Plank

You also need to upgrade to a Worktable II to be able to craft a Realm Box.
