The Elbaf arc of One Piece has been the most anticipated in the series’ history. When it finally began in Chapter 1126 of the manga, it immediately flooded fans with a ton of mysteries regarding the world, chief of which was the legendary Devil Fruit of the island, which seemingly makes Prince Loki one of the most powerful and dangerous characters in the entire franchise.
Ever since its first mention, theories about the fruit’s true power have overtaken the One Piece fandom. However, fans got to see it in use for the first time in Chapter 1170, where Loki finally defeated a possessed King Harald. Because of this, and the official teaser of its abilities in this chapter, it seems that many fans may have uncovered the fruit’s identity, so in this article, let’s take a look at what it could be.
Say Hello To The Newest Legendary Devil Fruit Of One Piece
A new Legendary Devil Fruit will soon be revealed. This Devil Fruit will change the world of One Piece.
But First, What Do We Know About The Fruit?
Its Possible Powers
- Loki’s Devil Fruit has been tied to the Ancient worlds
Throughout the history of One Piece, there have only been two Devil Fruits that have been described as ‘legendary’, one of which is Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, with the other being the mysterious Devil Fruit tied to the Elbaf Royal Family. This alone puts it in a unique situation, since its storied history from the First or Second World is greatly implied.
At its most basic, this Devil Fruit is likely the single most powerful one in the series, perhaps even greater than Luffy’s Nika fruit, since Loki was able to defeat King Harald who was empowered with a Deep Sea Contract, a feat that not even two masters of Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, Scopper and Shanks, could do. Plus, Loki managed to do this without even undergoing Devil Fruit Awakening, implying that the power it boasts may even be greater than Luffy’s Nika form, which was only achieved after Awakening.
Unfortunately, fans couldn’t get a proper look at this fruit’s design, but another confirmation is that it is in fact a Mythical Zoan, which fans had always assumed, but it was only confirmed in Chapter 1170. Another thing is that it increases Loki’s already-titanic size to a much greater degree, which could be seen when his transformed state grabbed Harald’s face in just one hand.
Finally, a very brief look at Loki’s new form granted to him by his Devil Fruit was given, though only as a silhouette. This showed his hands turn into massive claws, his size increase by a huge degree, and him growing huge horns, making him look like a massive and dangerous monster.

Loki’s Devil Fruit is one of the most hotly debated topics in the entirety of One Piece, with fans actively guessing its powers for over a year at this point. Despite this, Oda is still being incredibly secretive about its power, since it’s still a mystery. However, with all the confirmed aspects of it taken into consideration, there are a few educated guesses that can be made.
The most popular theory here is also the most likely, which is of Loki having an alternative Nika fruit. The existence of this fruit was heavily implied earlier on in the Elbaf arc, where the Giants revealed that Nika was known as a destroyer as well as a liberator, which the Elbaf mural also hinted at, painting an entirely different version of the figure. When Luffy first met Loki, the Accursed Prince also referred to himself as the Sun God who will destroy the world, heavily reinforcing this theory.
I am the Sun God who will bring about the end of the world!
However, many fans still aren’t convinced about this being the proper identity of this fruit, namely because a Nika fruit already exists and the brief appearance that was shown in Chapter 1170 doesn’t track with the rest of what is known about the figure. Due to this, the second most popular theory has come forth, which is that Loki has the Mythical Zoan; Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Fenrir.
Given Loki and Elbaf’s obvious connection to Norse Mythology, this seems very plausible, especially considering how Luffy’s first visit to Aurust Castle showed massive claw marks on the walls, implying that Loki’s transformation could be even more beastly than fans previously believed. The form he used against Harald may very well have been his hybrid-Zoan transformation.
With all of this in mind, there exists yet another option regarding the truth of Loki’s fruit which may be the most realistic of them all, which is of Loki having the Nidhogg Mythical Zoan. In Norse Mythology, Nidhogg is a massive and terrifying dragon that gnaws on the roots of the World Tree in an attempt to bring forth the end of the world, which is something Loki has outright stated that he wants to do as well in his first meeting with Luffy.
Plus, all the established facts of what is known about the battle between Harald and everyone else at Aurust Castle seems to check out with Loki having the Nidhogg fruit as well, with the massive size and strength increase and the claw marks. Through unofficial, some leaks have also suggested this. Although an alternate Destroyer Nika fruit seems the most likely option, the inevitable answer is sure to surprise fans.
